Senior Director of Mortgage Accounting
This exciting opportunity is directly responsible for leadership, management, and development of team up to 15 with several direct reports. Mortgage accounting resides in the Controller's Group and is responsible for maintenance of the Financial Statements of the company related to mortgage related activities. This leader swill act as liaison with multiple internal groups (including Secondary Marketing, Treasury & Finance Analytic, ALM Strategy, Mortgage Operations & Servicing, Mortgage Finance and Accounting Policy) for implementation of new strategy, products and systems.
Responsibilities Include:
- Leadership and team management
- Determining appropriate accounting treatment in accordance with GAAP
- Loss Recognition
- Loan Modifications
- Portfolio Acquisitions
- Securitizations
- Oversight of monthly close processes
- Ensure accurate and timely SEC and Regulatory reporting
- Monitor and Enhance Control Environment
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelors Degree, CPA, 10 yrs experience in leadership and team development
Preferred Qualifications:
Masters Degree in Accounting, 10 yrs in Financial Services with experience in Mortgage Accounting/Servicing/Secondary Markets/Treasury related activities.
